Atkins Diet, The Second Time

A few of you have asked the exact same question, such as asked by Renee. Here is her question: “I lost 30 lbs last year then went off Atkins for 3 Months (staying within 5 lbs) and now back on induction I am having trouble starting to lose again. Anything I can do to help get it started?”

Mainly and most obvious is your body because if you are starting Atkins over again, whether months later or years later, your body has already gone through changes. As you get older it is much harder for you to lose weight plus your metabolism has slowed down.

In addition, there is a theory called the â??Golden Shot,â? which says that you have one true chance at successfully losing weight on a low carb diet. In other words, if you try the Atkins diet a second time, the weight losses are much slower and your body is no longer taken by surprise, thus preventing rapid weight loss.

Fact is, it is harder on your body the second time around so you simply have to stick with it. It may be a bit discouraging, but you have to keep at it. If you are sticking to the 20 grams as indicated by the induction and arenâ??t losing any weight, then you are probably at a stall. Easiest way to fix this problem is to move on to Phase 2, OWL.

For ideas on nutritional intake, try foods like fish, salad, omelets, chicken , stir fry, and scrambled eggs. From what I understand, it is a big no no to eat foods that are high calorie and low carb. Hope this helps and good luck!
